For the first time in six years, luxury cruise line Seabourn is offering its guests the experience of a lifetime. Seabourn offers a variety of world cruises in various lengths but the most indulgent of these is their five-month tour. This Seabourn cruise carries passengers on a 146-day journey from Miami to San Fransisco. During the course of the trip, they’ll experience over sixty ports in over thirty countries on five continents. Intrigued? Here’s everything you need to know about Seabourn’s Luxury World Cruise.
The Ship
Passengers will delight when boarding the Seabourn Sojourn, their home for their globe-circumnavigating trip. This ultra-luxury ship can accommodate 458 passengers. The ship is not your average crowded cruise ship. Instead, the ship feels like a luxury private club. The communal areas are intimate and encourage conversation with like-minded guests. With a casino, Grand Salon for live shows, and Retreat area complete with 9-hole putting course, there is no lack of ways to entertain yourself on this Seabourn cruise. After a long day of exploring ports around the world, relax in the luxury ship’s expansive 11,000 square foot spa, comprising two stories of indoor and outdoor space.
The Cabins
Worried about feeling cramped during Seabourn’s Luxury World Cruise? No need! The ship’s cabins consist of all luxurious oceanfront suites, some with spacious verandas.
Seabourn Sojourn offers unparalleled choice in accommodations. Choose from 229 ocean view suites measuring 295 to 1,682 square feet, 90% with private verandas. This includes five Owner’s Suites measuring up to 1,062 square feet (including the veranda) and four two-bedroom Grand Suites with up to 1,682 square feet of private living space. You can also choose to stay in one of the 23 Penthouse Suites on the uppermost decks, each featuring up to 534 square feet of space.
Dining
The Seabourn cruise offers world-class dining in partnership with Chef Thomas Keller. The restaurant offers come-as-you-wish seated dining and offers French-American fare. For an American Chophouse feel, visit The Grill. Here, waiters will prepare your salads tableside and you can enjoy classic dishes like Lobster Thermidor and an extensive cocktail and wine list. For a more casual option, the Collonade offers an upscale buffet with indoor and outdoor seating. Finally, guests can enjoy the casual poolside dining at The Patio, offering everything from grilled specialties to oven-baked pizzas.
The Ports
With over sixty ports on Seabourn’s Luxury World Cruise, they are too numerous to list in entirety. Rest assured you’ll be amazed at the list! The trip begins in Miami and heads south through the Caribbean to Colombia. This stop is quickly followed by visits to Aruba and Bonaire, then Barbados. From there the ship crosses the Atlantic to begin its trip along the African coast. Highlights of African ports are Cape Verde, an overnight in Senegal, and a stop in Abidjan, Ivory Coast. The journey will cross the equator and continue through Namibia, and South Africa including the passing of the Cape of Good Hope.
After crossing the equator again the ship continues through Asia. Highlights include stops in Sri Lanka, India, Indonesia, and Malaysia. With stops in Singapore, Ho Chi Minh City, and Hong Kong your itinerary will be full. Finally, you’ll also stop in Australia, New Caledonia, and Fiji to round out your trip before crossing the international date line and spending four days in Hawaii. You will then be ending your Seabourn cruise with an overnight in San Fransisco.
