Wondering what the most expensive cruises in the world are? We have collected five for your to consider for your summer fun. Cruise vacations combine all the best of aspects of world travel: extravagant accommodations, exciting ports of call, and exposure to cultures and experiences around the world. Standard cruise lines pack thousands of passengers onto enormous ships, often sacrificing space and luxury for maximum occupancy. Several cruise lines have begun operating smaller, more opulent cruise ships targeting travelers who are looking to sail the seas in style. Of course, these accommodations come at a price. Here are some of the most luxurious, and most expensive, cruises in the world.
SeaDream Yacht Club
For a personalized, intimate cruise, consider booking passage on one of SeaDream Yacht Club’s cruises. Fewer than 125 guests are cared for by 95 crew members, insuring top-level service. An 11-day Mediterranean cruise in the Owner’s Suite runs $24,750 before discounts. Inclusion of land adventures at the yacht’s ports of call require additional fees.
Seabourn Encore
The Seabourn Encore was modeled after the experience sailing on a private yacht. The ship carries a maximum of 600 passengers (based on double occupancy) and each suite boasts a private veranda. Passengers can book a 61 day exploration of Asia, India and Arabia beginning in December of 2016. A Veranda Suite will cost you $32,999 per passenger, availability for Penthouse and Owner’s Suites is available upon request.
Queen Mary 2
The Queen Mary 2 on the Cunard line will be dry docked for renovations during the summer of 2016 for “remastering” and will resume sailing the end of June 2016. The ship’s highest tier accommodations include a personal butler and concierge and access to exclusive restaurants. Plan ahead for 2017 and book a 125 day cruise from Queens to South Hampton in a Queens Grills stateroom for $178,798 per person.
Regent Seven Seas Cruises
Regent Seven Seas Cruises include airfare, unlimited shore excursions, hotel packages, specialty restaurants, and more. Designed to be intimate and nimble, the ship accommodates 700 passengers versus the thousands that will be aboard a standard cruise ship. The ship will also feature the largest on-board suite ever seen on a cruise liner. The nearly 4,000 square foot Regent Suite will boast a private garden, an in-suite spa, three marble-detailed bathrooms, two balconies, a walk-in closet, and Hermès and L’Occitane amenities. Book a world cruise for January of 2017 and spend four and half months sailing around the world in a Master Suite for $389,188 per passenger before discounts.
Crystal Symphony
Named one of Conde West’s two best ships in the world, Crystal Cruises’s Crystal Symphony has undergone a recent $15 million redesign. The 50,000 ton ship carries fewer than a thousand guests providing an excellent space to passenger ratio. The 129 day world cruise planned for 2018 sails from Cape Town to Rome, including a special gala in Sydney. Crystal Penthouse accommodations for this trip will cost you $691,850 before discounts. That is definitely one of the most expensive cruises in the world!
